The Netherlands Romanian Chamber of Commerce expresses its concern about the potential negative impact on the business environment resulting from the proposed fiscal measures announced by the authorities. NRCC considers that without a sustainable and structural approach, the intended objective of the authorities may not be achieved, and it might turn around.

We have witnessed how the integration in the European economic area has contributed significantly to the social and economic progress in Romania. Undoubtedly, Romania’s accession to Schengen will further support this positive development.

With the Netherlands having an open economy, the Dutch-Romanian business community fully comprehends the economic benefits of an efficient internal European market and welcomes further steps in that direction.

In our opinion, accession to Schengen would also be beneficial for the Romanian economy, resulting in additional growth potential and more effective integration in European supply chains.

The Netherlands Romanian Chamber of Commerce (NRCC) supports and promotes the Dutch-Romanian business community. The NRCC creates business opportunities within its active community of members, having close contact with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Romania and acting as a consultation partner between the business sector and the Romanian Government.

This White Paper summarizes the focus areasand policy recommendations of the NetherlandsRomanian Chamber of Commerce (NRCC) for thecoming period. Each of the chapters has been prepared by one of our task forces, which consist of members active in the respective fields and our representatives in the Coaliţia pentru Dezvoltarea României (CDR).

Following the Business Organizations joint position regarding AML provisions and latest discussions that took place with Romanian officials, a GEO for postponing the declaration regarding the ultimate beneficial owner for associations and foundations has been published on August 24 in the Official Gazette no 771/24.11.2020.

This document sets out the position of NRCC with regards to Emergency Governance Ordinance 54/2010[1] (“Ordinance 54”) regarding measures for preventing tax evasion on the amendment of the Companies Law 31/1990[2] (“Companies Law”).

Representatives of the Romanian business environment and civil society request the Parliament not to restrict their participation in the public online meetings of the specialized committees, in order to be able to support their views, so that the legislative circuit continues to operate based on transparency, and the policies and measures adopted by decision makers are in line with the real needs of society.
