An entrepreneur is always pitching, selling and trying to convince people to buy, try or love his / her products. This is part of the game! So why not get comfortable with this idea real quick! Recognize however that not everyone will buy your product hence the importance of defining your typical buyer or "persona' as we call it. The better you understand all aspects of your potential buyer, the quicker you win. In the context of Networking, practicing your 'Elevator Pitch' can make the difference between being noticed or forgotten. When you meet new people to talk about your business it's got to come across as coherent, smooth and effortless.

We asked Paul about his start as an entrepreneur…
"Ever since selling lemonade in front of my house when I was 7 years old and my neighbor dropping a rock in my lemonade to upset me, this never deterred me from becoming my own boss. I've tried on a few occasions and failed, only to realize that some of the best business people had tried and failed 2, 3 or 4 times before they made it big!
I get it now. My brother told me that 'being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart'. He was right and I can honestly say the between year 5 and year 7…something clicked and my confidence has grown ever since. Time is a necessary element in the life of an entrepreneur.
I've learned that one should not fear 'of failing' but rather fear of ‘not trying’. A lot of people dream about becoming an entrepreneur yet few ever make the move. Even fewer fail but they get right back up again and push!
Failing is part of learning – that applies to becoming an entrepreneur as well. My experience as an employee, then manager, then Director, then C-level was in fact good schooling to help me prepare to be on my own. I’ve always admired Small and medium business owners more than corporate animals so it’s only normal that I became an entrepreneur as a result. It’s hard work…I work more than ever but I’m in full control. The only people that affect this level of control are my clients. I like this concept. If I don’t deliver and outperform expectations, they walk!"
