Valentin joined ING Romania in 2007. For 10 years, he worked in the Treasury department, where he was responsible for managing the bank's liquidity and trading on the interbank money market. During this time, he earned the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) diploma from the AFP (Association for Financial Professionals) and the ACI diploma from the Financial Markets Association.
In 2018, he was appointed economist at the bank within the Economic Research department, where he managed macroeconomic analysis for several countries (Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Croatia). He was often quoted in international media, and his forecasts ranked in the top 3 for several countries. In his role as Chief Economist, Valentin will continue his macroeconomic research, focusing not only on the Romanian economy but also on other countries in the region that he has already covered.
Valentin graduated in economics from the Academy of Economic Studies and earned a Master's degree in European Economic Studies from the same university.
