Find out what lies ahead for the Romanian economy, what are the new growth engines, how EU funds are going to change the economic landscape, and what are the main macroeconomic forecasts for this year in a conversation with Valentin Tataru.
Valentin joined ING Romania in 2007. For 10 years, he worked in the Treasury department, where he was in charge of managing the bank's liquidity and trading on the interbank money market. During this time, he acquired the Certified Treasury Professional diploma from AFP (Association for Financial Professionals) and the ACI diploma from the Financial Markets Association.
In 2018, he was appointed economist at the bank, within the Economic Research department, where he managed the macro-economic analysis of several countries (Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Croatia). He was often quoted in international media, and his forecasts ranked in the top 3 for several countries. In his Chief Economist role, Valentin will continue his macro-economic research activity, focusing not only on the Romanian economy but also on the other countries in the region he has already covered.
Valentin graduated in economics from the Academy of Economic Studies, and he earned a Masters’ degree in European Economic Studies from the same university.
